This painting was commisioned by myself for my parents for a christmas present in 1984 from the Fleetwood artist, the late Keith Sutton who was an engineer sailing out of Fleetwood. It cost me 80 quid at the time, and no prints were ever taken from it, so is unique. The trawler herself was lost with all 19 hands off Skerryvore in December 1959 whilst homeward bound from Iceland in Hurricaine force storms.
I presented it to my mother on Christmas morning that year, and she immediately buerst into tears, saying that she couldn't have such a painting in her possession because of the tragic story behind it and so it has been in my proud possession ever since.......I love it.
