How about 'Lydia Long' a drifter destroyed in the explosion of the 'Ostende' [Steel steamship built 1903] at Loch-na-Lathaich near Bunessen in Mull on 20th Januray 1943?

    Thanks for that off Scotland

My father was on Lydia Long at this time and was rescued off a raft by a packet called Empire Tulip five hours after the explosion, he was taken to the Argyll Arms in Bunessen. I took him to the bay of the wreck when he retired and he managed to find the men who survived with him, he has been dead now for 14 years but he never got to thank the crew of Empire Tulip.
I am looking for any photos or info on the crews of these vessels to proceed with my Dads story
    cheers!
