Sad to say, Andromeda née Pat Campbell is on the bottom. Efforts are being made to refloat her.
After sitting on the bottom since last Sunday morning, she is back up again. Two 4" submersible pumps, five 2" and one 2 1/2" petrol.
Something in the order of 500 tons an hour! Once she started to lift, it became easier.
what caused her to sink? was a fine boat in her day, looked great varnished without the shelter deck
After all these months - a reply!
The latest theory is that a poor repair by the previous owner to a short section of planking was damaged by some dockside ironwork.
This caused water to flow in and the deeper she went, the more dodgy areas admitted water as well.
