I stumbled across this site whilst looking for images of WY141
"Golden Hope". The skipper of Golden Hope and his son (family friends) were both Whitby RNLI crew.
Despite the fact I now live in Staffordshire and get seasick in the bath, I
have always had a love of the sea and all things nautical. I think this is possibly because I can trace my Whitby fishermen ancestors back to 1635.
I've had a look round the galleries and there are a few boats on there that I'm sure I remember being in Whitby harbour during the 1950s and 60s. I have some photographs which I will endeavour to post (I struggled with my avatar and gave up!) and which may be of interest to someone.
