SAD AND DISTURBING This morning Dinish Pier #Castletownbere is again like "Port De Vigo",with Spanish boats queuing up to land their catch.Since early morning 25 Spanish articulated trucks have left Dinish Island full of fish. Not ONE Spanish boat or truck was inspected by anyone, yet when local fishing boats land their catch they are scrutinised like criminals by fishery officers. Watch this video in full and you will see what I mean, there's ONE Irish boat in the middle and THREE fishery officers literally doing a post mortem on the landing while 10 feet away the Spanish fishermen wave to us and laugh at us as they put ALL their catch straight into the back of a lorry. Its seems as if there's NO LAW here for foreign boats and treat our own fishermen like CRIMINALS. Its a clear indication of the disregard this government has for fishing communities such as ours, when today and tomorrow FOUR senior government ministers including the minister with responsibility for fisheries will visit the area and not one of them has mentioned the fishermen. Maybe they might watch this and see the damage its doing to our Community. #southernstar #c103 #theskipper #marinetimes #beara #westcork #sfpa #ministercreed
