Interestingly if you compare the Lloyds volume for Scotland with my own book you find Lloyds 'diffinitive list' is about 8,000 wrecks where I have nearly 18,000 for the same area... (OK so I've included about 1,000 aircraft...) As far as I can see Lloyds didn't worry themselves too much in the early days when many boats were not insured. Losses of these ships/boats only made local papers and a closing entry in the Port register. Likewise the Fishing fleets. If this web site is to get off the ground it will be a huge undertaking. Ian
