David Duguid MP Joined the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) for Fisheries this week as Vice Chairman.

The aim of the Group is "To promote and support the UK fishing industry in Parliament."
Also in the picture, from left;
Alastair Carmichael MP, Orkney and Shetland (Vice Chairman)
Melanie Onn MP, Great Grimsby (Co-Chairman - processing)
Sheryll Murray MP, South East Cornwall (Co-Chairman - catching)
Peter Aldous MP, Waveney (Secretary)

One main difference of this APPG from previous versions is a distinct focus on processing as well as catching - hence the two co-chairs.

At this first meeting of the group in this parliament, it was agreed that further representation would be sought for Northern Island and Wales as well as further representation, and from the SNP, for the West Coast of Scotland/inshore fisheries.
