SCOTTISH seafood processors are being invited to join a national stand at Japan's leading tradeshow for the seafood and salmon industry.

The Scottish Seafood Collaborative Group, led by Seafood Scotland and Scottish Development International, will be participating at the Japan International Seafood (JIS) Expo on 19-21 August.

For Scottish processors wishing to meet key contacts and target wholesale, distributors, retail and foodservice opportunities in Japan, JIS is a key event in this market and offers opportunities to meet with premium buyers from across the country.

The key objectives of this showcase project are to educate buyers and influential opinion makers about Scottish Seafood, encourage buyers to connect with Scotland, and raise awareness of the seafood available from Scottish shores, with the long-term aim of increasing exports for the Scottish industry.

The Scottish Seafood Collaborative Group are hosting a 'Seafood from Scotland' branded showcase stand at this show a key feature of which will be a chef's demonstration kitchen. A Scottish chef will work alongside Japanese chefs to cook and present a wide range of Scottish seafood in both traditional Japanese and Scottish styles. There will be a communal display and lounge area where Scottish companies can hold meetings and host guests.
