can anyone tell me what the george weatherill was built
from was it ferro cement ?
were the amazon and harvest gold built with the same material .

All 3 were built in GRP by Halmatic in the 1970's but the Amazon wasn't completed until 1980 as far as I know

Yeah, as Davie says. Think at the time GW was the largest British fibreglass fishing boat, 54ft, built about 1973 for WY. If you're ever in WY, theres a cracking painting of the boat in the Elsinore pub.

there were six 50 / 54 foot hulls built, 2 were suevey craft, 1 was a pleasure vessel, and the other 3 were fishing boats, george weatherill, K 24 built 1973, do a search on the ships nostalgie site some info there,

The George Weatherill was built for Teddy Jarman, a retired grocer/ businessman who lived near WY and she was skippered by Ian Brittan, a school pal o mine.
At the time she was the biggest GRP boat ever built.
She had a T8 in her and was a very towing boat
