Police have appealed for information after anchors worth thousands of pounds were stolen in Aberdeenshire.

A total of 15 anchors have been taken from Cruden Bay harbour in two incidents.

Grampian Police said the anchors were estimated to be worth a mid four-figure sum.

A force spokeswoman appealed for anyone who may have seen any suspicious people or vehicles in the area to contact them.

Some Fishermen in Arthurstown in Co. Wexford have had propellors cut from their Inshore boats after they had been lifted for the Winter.A system of Neighbourhood watches, webcams etc are being strongly recommended by various harbour, marine bodies as well as local police around the country. Needless to say the props have been melted down by now.
