Sounds like a Dutch name to me, Shoreham 89. If you have somewhat more information about this vessel I can always have a look on some Dutch websites.

The only "Zuiderzee" I have heard of was a Dutch stern/beam-trawler (UK-63) that was lost with all hands (5) in the German Bight, back in 1976. See for her picture:

Hello Matt,

So far I have found 14 fishing-vessels which sail(ed) with the name "Zuiderzee"! Can you tell me on which one you have been working?

I hope the one you are looking for is one of these two, Matt!

The Zuiderzee you remember was registered as DS 1 George. Although both were Dutch built she was slightly smaller than the one referred to here which was P 336 & then LK 3380. The smaller Zuiderzee was previously PL registered I believe.

Matt the last I new of her she was sold from Brighton and Newhaven fish sales in shoreham harbour. i think peter leach owned her. My dad, Alan Moody was skipper of her for a few years when she was at Johnsons Sea Enterprise. Johnsons sold her and the Petronella around 1998 to Peter leach. she wasnt in Shoreham when i worked down there in 2002. I will ask my dad tho coz he will probably know who peter leach sold her to.

This Zuiderzee was built in Breskens by Van De Sande
