I see there's an advert in the classified adds in the back of todays Fishing News from "Campbeltown Shipyards ( Argyll )" tendering to build new stern trawlers from 90ft (3.5m) to 150ft (6m).

Anyone heard anything from the yard as there's only a mobile phone contact number.

I saw the advert and immediately checked that it wasnt April 1st.

I havent heard anything,no recruitment,designers etc.
It would be a brave skipper to order a boat on a mobile phone number.
Will sniff around and see what I can find,

Last info about the yard I heard was that they were being used to build wind turbines with the boat building side no longer needed so I don't even know if the cradles and moulding equipment still exists

Hi Chaps

It must be wind up time or it is April Ist:)

The last memory of the shipyard died last year (Aug 26th 2006) when the main office building was damaged by fire (unknown how). The building was immediatly bulldozed to the ground for safety reasons. The other pic shows the Trench Point now, the site of the yard.
