Hi Patrick,
There used to be a Semper Fortis fishing out of Dunmore East. She was Belgian built was used for scalloping. Is this the same vessel? She was about 27 metres long.

Hello,

That's the vessel i'm looking for. From 1989 untill 2004 it served in Ireland.
it was owned by James Devereux (1989-1999) and by Michael Crossan (1999-
2004).In 2004 it sank out of the coast of Dunmore-East.I visited it a couple of times when it sailed in Ireland. Before it came to Ireland it served in the U.K.
It sailed in Lowestoft and was owned initially by Mr. Roger Klyne. It had the registration LT 562 "Semper Fortis"It served in the U.K from 1981 untill 1989.
It's that piece of history i'm looking for. Before it came to the U.K it was owned by my father and i sailed on it as a young boy.

We've had a message about this vessel when she was fishing in the 1980's

I was reading about the Semper Fortis and how this boat has sank. I am very sad to hear this as my father was the skipper back in 1980's. He took the boat to Fleetwood in the July 88 and unfortunately upon returning to the boat late one evening fell between the dock and boat he drowned and was missing for three days. I also remember the boat being in a trawler race at Lowestoft Fish Fayre unsure of what date but everyone had thought it had won but it had actually came second, I was very sick on this trip and remember sitting at the back with the fishing nets!

Stralis,

would you have sailed with my dad Harry? I believe we have some photos of her and also I have a painting of her.
