does any one know if a model trawl net can be bought or if such a thing is available

I can only remember seeing one advert for nets Dave. Pretty easy to make your own though if you get the netting. Depends on what type of net you need , if its for a side trawler I can put up a scale drawing of a normal Granton trawl for you , if its a seine net I should have plans here somewhere , if its a modern hopper trawl or prawn trawl that would be more difficult but some of the members might have plans of real nets that can be scanned and put up on the site.

What size of model trawl had you in mind ? Might be able to help you as i am a retired net designer and trawl maker,

The Ebay company that used to supply them has been sold but I've found other suppliers. The type of material is called Tulle

thanks davie,the netting looks perfect,does anyone have any plans for a hopper net?

No plans handy here Dave I'm afraid but I was thinking that you could use tap washers ( the 1/2 inch ones would be the 12'' full size at 1/24th scale )and just need a hole punched near the rim

aye thanks davie, i was told to use washers,just cannot find anything to use as bottles ,any ideas anyone?
